PRACTICING APPROACH:
Dr. Goswami has 16 years of experience practicing psychiatry after training. She has vast experience in several different settings including outpatient, inpatient, partial day stay programs, consultation and telepsychiatry. Dr. Goswami finds it more helpful to patients and family if they are helped in an outpatient setting to make changes on a long term. Dr. Goswami believes telepsychiatry is the best approach in providing outpatient care in current time.
Dr. Goswami has excellent clinical and communication skills along with the great ability to connect with people.
Dr. Goswami is trained in pharmacotherapy, supportive psychotherapy, and parenting guidance and behavior management. Dr. Goswami has been able to apply the best from eastern and western culture in psychiatry.
In children medication may not be the first treatment recommendation or the only recommendation. Medication will be used if appropriate.
Being trained as an adult and child & adolescent psychiatry, Dr. Goswami is able to assess how childhood can affect adulthood and that makes her a better psychiatrist for adults also.
Her passion is to help people by guiding them in understanding the mind-body connection and helping to understand how to address their emotional issues.
Dr. Goswami loves to write her blog, work on her art projects, travel, do yoga and spend time with her family.
