What to expect from the initial consultation?
During initial visit, Dr. Goswami will be meeting with the patient itself if adult. She will get thorough history and listen to your concerns and based on that she will decide the diagnostic plan if required further investigations. If complex case then follow up appointment will be required to continue evaluation and treatment plan.
For minor patient, Dr. Goswami will schedule initial visit with biological parent and a patient. Sometimes in children more than one visit is required for assessment and to come up with treatment plan. If needed 2nd appointment will be scheduled to see the child/adolescent only and then will meet with parents and patient to go over the treatment plan. For a minor patient's visit, at least one biological parent needs to be present to provide update and to discuss treatment. Do not leave your child alone for the visit.
She will also discuss possible diagnosis, treatment options, pros and cons, prognosis and will also make recommendations for any referrals if needed. You will be given time to ask any questions or concern. She will involve you 100% in your treatment plan.
